15 minutes of fame, and other tales

I recklessly opted to attend work yesterday. I made my way downtown to Pioneer Square where I was supposed to find a shuttle bus which would pick me up at the MAX line to take me to Beaverton and work. I got downtown and peered around in the dark looking for the alleged shuttle bus, and entertained myself by watching people attempt to dig the Lewis and Clark shuttle bus out of the snow. There was a camera crew from News Channel 8 filming the spectacle. After they got done shooting their footage of the bus they walked up to me, pointed the camera in my face, and started asking me questions.

"What is your name?"

"Where are you going?"
"To work.", I replied.

"Where do you work?"
"In Beaverton, at Stream."

They asked me a few more questions, and I quickly forgot what they were as I made my way to work. I forgot about the entire incident by the time I arrived at work, until one of the team supervisors informed me that he had seen me on the news that morning. Since then my life has been radically different. I went out last night and everyone competed to buy me drinks. Beautiful women threw themselves at me. I was offered cushy jobs with extravagent salaries.

It didn't top Tuesday, when I was unable to attend work at all. I was terribly depressed I couldn't bring myself to leave the house. However, I left the house and went shopping, played in the snow, and came home to play board games. I helped to defeat the girls team at the game of Taboo, and then I defeated three baccalaureates of the liberal arts and one one almost-holder of an English degree at the game of Balderdash. A good time was had by all.
