Getting all misty-eyed over P2P
This is somewhat ground-shaking: The DMCA doesn't address P2P?
The original efforts of the RIAA to subpoena account information for Verizon customers allegedly trading in copyrighted material has been overturned by a three judge panel in the federal U.S. Court of Appeals for D.C. this morning.
The ramifications of this are major: it may result in evidence for current P2P prosecutions being thrown out! The DMCA could be rendered impotent against Kazaa Lite, Soulseek, and BitTorrent.
I'm a little choked up over this.
